Bulk plastic containers are used to secure and protect products during inbound processing, storage, and distribution across industries. Basic Definitions:

Collapsibility: A collapsed bulk container will save available space in a warehouse setting and on return trips to the manufacturing plant. Use this equation to verify the number of collapsed containers that will fit in a trailer with 8’ of usable height: 8’/collapsed height = number of containers you can purchase.

Nestability and Stackability:A number of rigid, non-collapsible bulk containers are designed to nest one unit inside another or stack on top of each other to make the most of available storage space.

Ergonomic Access Doors:Bulk plastic containers are designed with drop-down doors that allow workers easy access to all stored contents and materials.

Collapsible and Fixed Wall Container Lids: Materials and inventory can be protected from potential damage and the elements with a simple structural foam lid. The same lid can be used to aid secure stacking.

Forklift Access: All plastic bulk containers are manufactured with forklift access pockets on either 2 sides (2-way fork access) or 4 sides (4-way fork access).

Latch Style on Collapsible Containers Drop doors on standard-duty plastic collapsible containers are secured with three latch styles:

  • Slide fastener.
  • Snap lock fastener.
  • Zipper lock fastener.

Drop doors on heavy-duty containers are secured with:

  • Post and pocket fasteners.

Identification Options
All stored content information may be identified with:

  • Placards.
  • ID plates.
  • Cardholders.
  • Hot stamping.

Manufacturing Processes:

Foam: Gas and plastic are injected into a container mold. The materials combine to produce a cellular core that is surrounded by a smooth outer plastic shell. This manufacturing process offers a high strength to weight ratio.

Rotational Molding: A powdered plastic resin is added to a container mold that is designed with a closed cavity, and the unit is then rotated on each axis while heat is introduced. The mold is then cooled. This process results in a solid plastic bulk container that offers resistance against damage caused by impact and long life in service.

Injection Molding: Plastic resin is injected, under pressure, into a container mold. This manufacturing process results in a solid container wall and a solid core. Injection molding offers durability.
